Mooch News - February 2006

mooch has recently completed a commission for a tranquil, low maintenance garden in a primary school in East London that marks the bombing of the school when it was being used as a shelter during World War II. It commemorates the many lives that were lost following this tragedy. The garden was opened by the Civic Ambassador for Newham on the 17th January and is now a refurbished, elegant space for the staff and pupils to enjoy. mooch has been commissioned by Sheppard Robson Architects to support their proposal as lead developer for the expansion of Aylesham village in Kent. The village was part of the community that worked in the local collieries which closed in the 1980's. This flagship regeneration project will include marking key gateways to the village. Sheppard Robson clearly recognised the value of placing this unique concept at the heart of their proposal to give the overall scheme a sense of history and dynamic community.
